See in the new year with legendary DJ Gary Davies as he brings the UK’s most popular 80s radio show to Birmingham Symphony HALL for a special New Year’s Eve celebration featuring special guests Carol Decker (T’Pau), Deniece Pearson (Five Star) and Toyah Willcox!


Taking place from 9pm on New Year’s Eve, Sunday 31 December 2023.

Alongside producer Johnny Kalifornia, they will take you back to the best decade in music – the 80s! Party along to specially curated Mastermixes and watch as the brilliant Sounds of the 80s dancers recreate classic scenes from 80s films and videos.

Dance to your favourite 80s anthems from artists such as Wham!, Queen, Prince, Madonna, Whitney and more.

So, dress to impress and dig out those Frankie and Wham! statement T-shirts, put on your headbands and leg warmers and join us as we relive the greatest era of music with a massive party.

  • Toyah Willcox has taken to the stage like no other for 42 years. From punk princess to cult stage actress, she has won numerous awards and nominations from singing to writing to acting. In 2001 Toyah was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Central England in Birmingham.
  • Carol Decker is known for her distinctive lead vocals and songwriting talents in T’Pau. The band, who burst onto the music scene in 1987, are still a popular fixture on the Festival & Arena circuit.
  • Deniece Pearson is the Brit Award winner, Grammy nominee, lead singer of iconic pop group Five Star. Her debut single Forever Young was released in August and marks the 40th anniversary of her illustrious career.
