Following her Top 30 hit album “Posh Pop”and Isle of Wight Festival performance Toyah unveils details of the new Rhythm Deluxe Edition of studio album “In The Court of The Crimson Queen”, presented as a prequel to “Posh Pop”.
The definitive version of the album now contains Toyah’s unique interpretation of the iconic song “Slave To The Rhythm”, featuring Robert Fripp on guitar and produced by Simon Darlow, co-writer of the original track.
The album also contains three brand new remakes of “Sensational”, “Heal Ourselves” and “Latex Messiah”featuring the Posh Pop Three of Toyah, Simon Darlow and Robert Fripp. Plus exclusively revised artwork and lyrics for the album.
Written and arranged by Toyah Willcox and Simon Darlow, In The Court Of The Crimson Queen was originally recorded and conceived 2007-2008. The title is of course in reference to husband Robert Fripp’s King Crimson album In The Court Of The Crimson King. The album was the first new original material since 2003’s Velvet Lined Shell mini-album and saw Toyah reunite with Simon Darlow whom Willcox had earlier written the singles Rebel Run and Don’t Fall In Love with plus material from the 1980s Toyah albums Minx and Love is The Law.
Although self-released in 2008 on CD/digtially, ITCOTCQ was reimagined as a double album in 2019 featuring five new songs with all tracks re-mixed and remastered for the 2-CD package which includes a 24-page booklet, full lyrics and stunning new photography.
A strictly limited edition purple vinyl LP featuring 11 tracks including new album opener Dance In The Hurricane will be issued by Demon Records for Record Store Day on Saturday 13 April 2019 to independent record stores.
Released by Edsel Records, the album, written and arranged by Toyah Wilcox and Simon Darlow, presents a collection of finely honed songcraft, killer hooks and brings together two lifetimes of performing, writing and producing music. In The Court Of The Crimson Queensees Toyah continuing to hold court with a set of beautifully crafted songs, thought provoking lyrics and a rally cry to forever living life out loud, proud and heard. The album’s 15 tracks explore life, love, empowerment and wonderment.

Latex Messiah and Come invite everyone’s inner rebel and unashamed self-expression to be unleashed in their energetic tour de force. Who Let The Beast Out was premiered at London Scoop’s 2016 outdoor musical Crime and Punishment which featured thirteen of Toyah & Darlow’s songs.
