In 1990, Toyah and Girtlschool teamed up to form a new band, Strange Girls performing gigs and making music together. The collaboration was initially a live experiment, and included a one-off gig under the name She-Deils for the Women In Music Festival in 1990. This saw the band perform primarily cover versions plus a mixture of Toyah and Girlschool classics.
The following year the band re-christened themselves Strange Girls and embarked on a UK tour to introduce themselves. Their sets included a mix of Toyah and Girlschool classics, cover versions and three original songs. The band then made soem demos, and re-grouped again in 1992, armed with 6 more new original songs them played another series of UK gigs.
